A Revisited Style

The Emelisse Brewery is located in Kamperland, an island village of the Zeeland province in the Netherlands. The name comes from a nearby village, flooded in the 16th century – many were so destroyed in this region of polders. Kamperland is a spot for windsurfers – and since 2004, for craft beer lovers, since the brewery’s founding by Tom ter Horst.

This brewpub produces several beers, among which is this “DIPA.” Double IPAs (also referred to as Imperial IPAs) are stronger – here 7.9% ABV - and very hoppy. This deep amber-coloured beer immediately reveals a resinous and bitter flavor. The soft and spicy aroma which follows has to be the result of Saaz hops. This DIPA is an original and enjoyable drink to discover.
